Join us April 25th 2015 from 2PM-4PM! The tours are FREE and a great way to collect ideas on coop design, learn about chicken breeds and meet the folks who are raising chickens in the city. Tours are self-guided and are held in a variety of neighborhoods around Columbus. Ours are at 1363 N. 4th Street…just a few doors south of the gardens at 4th Street Farms in Weinland Park, a neighborhood of the Short North, University & New Indianola Historic Districts. All are welcome – it’s a great opportunity for kids of all ages to experience urban farming.
Maps for the tour are available at City Folk Farms Shop in Clintonville. City Folk Farms also offers classes on keeping chickens, soap making, backyard gardening, & mushroom inoculation, as well as a variety of urban farming events like seed & fermentation swaps. City Folk Farms is a great resource for urban living in Columbus.
We look forward to seeing you at 4th Street Farms. Feel free to start in the gardens on a self-guided tour of the herbs, fruits & veggies before heading south 4 doors to 1363 N. 4th Street, where the chickens enjoy a backyard life. Entry from street or alley is available. There are also friendly cats and an older dog to greet you, as you check out baby chicks and older hens!
